A child’s prayer: " God pray for Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa and I hope the whole world is happy and safe." Does she have a greater connection to God? Some think so. If she knew a friend that wasn’t well, she would pray, "Please make her better so she can play with me." Life seems so simple at this age, is it? Could prayer, and each of us looking out for each other, bring happiness, wellness..... Do the children of our world have the idea if each of us prayed, or helped each other a little more, just maybe we could make the connection and make a difference in the life of someone who really needs it.

"Red is among the most wise people I know, and hard workin' too. He still lives, as he did when he grew up in these Tennessee mountains, off the land. He loves to talk of the past and tell tales of the mountains. His animals are like his best friends, cared for dearly."

“I’s Build me a cabin if only I could, I’d make me a shine still deep in the wood, I’d get me a plough mule and work ‘em June thru ‘til May, reckin’ you won’t find me ‘til judgement day.”
“I Feel close to Levi. He has a particular way about him. We took to each other the first time we met, and I feel very comfortable with him. He calls me “Buddy”. Levi is the traditional old-timer from Tennessee. There is a very soft side to this man, something very youthful, His beard falls to his chest and he runs his hand over the bottom of it every mow and again, making me think, that the beard is meant to hide his innate shyness. He’s suspicious of people and I can just picture him making moonshine in those mountains. He’s got real pride in his banjo playing, which he is well known for. He talks often of his blockading and his coal mining days. He was exactly what I wanted to paint.” -Paul Murray-

Red is a mountain man who loves the old ways so much, he has built a mini museum with primitive buildings mad with found wood, each with trade tools and antiques. A lye making shop, cobbler shop, blacksmith shop and many more. Red always seems joyful like you would think Santa Clause would be. He is always happy to be with people, sharing stories of the old days and jokes he’s picked up on the way. He loves critters, too. He has always owned mules, burros goats and chickens. He stands here with our burro "Dolly" getting ready to do some chores. Every spring Dolly & Paul ploughed our vegetable garden. "Dolly" did a good job and was a great jo, I think Dolly, too! By the way, Dolly loves people just as much, and he gives you an exuberant greeting that only a donkey can do! In April 2009 Dolly, age 5, was accidentally killed by a gun. He will be sorely missed, we were blessed to have had him.

Silk & Satin Pastel

Special: reg. $145, pre-release price $95 Save $50 Well, by the way Milt’s lookin’, you would think anything but silk & satin! Milt maneuvers the meanest face he can while holding his gun and glaring at the two strangers coming upon his small cabin far in the mountains of Appalac, in fact, we became friends for over 20 years. For any that might not know, these mountain friendships with " furriners" are an honor. A bachelor, Milt lived happily in a simple cabin in the hills surrounded by things that he loved; his critters, his gun & clock collection, his garden and, not least of all, a yard full of clutter. Not just any clutter! Among the old boots and bottles there were parts, metal and more than that! His inspiration would invent any new tool to solve any project. Milt was not a sweet, polished man but to Paul & I, he was a real, living truth, close to earth, with no pretense......anything but Silk & Satin. It was an honor to be a friend of such a man.
Walking in Tobermory on a sunny fall day my eye was drawn to the most captivating drawings I have ever seen. As I entered the shop, I felt a rush of emotions as I gazed at each drawing. The expressions on each face warmed my heart. There was on drawing in particular that actually brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you for that moment.
Cindy
I have appalachia 75/450 sold to me and framed by your gallery.I am thinking of selling. Would your gallery be interested? Kathy examed the print and said it was one of the best.
Hey Ron, How are you doing? Hope all is well. I am not taking on any more art for sale. I am advising people to go on ebay or a more international website to sell and not to ask top dollar. Any price over $1000, it usually helps to have a layaway, it makes it easer to come up with the money on time. Good Luck. Paul has shown in a couple museums and will be highligted in “Cowboys & Indians” and Western Art Collector and American Art Collector in Jan, Feb. and March 2013….
Have a Merry Christmas. Kati-Jane (Kathy) Murray
Ron,
We have our list of sellers and are full of secondary listings for now. THanks, try ebay, make sure to validate by listing our website. I send clients to ebay all the time
love your art.
I have briar patch trio 213/680 professionally framed in my living room. They enlighten my heart!
Thinking of selling “Secrets”. 136/325 Any suggestions?
I am interested in a print of an elderly woman holding a shotgun. This goes back a few years. Is it available? I will be Gatlinburg start Friday for a week and could come to the gallery. I am looking for print and frame to be around 21″ x 27.5″ with a green mat. My goal is to match my coal miner with gun print.
I have Baking Flour and 1884-1984. 125/275. Framed exactly as you had on display. Frame shop consulted with Paul purchased in Goderich ontario maybe as much as 20 years ago. Love it but am now old and my family in need. Please give the value as I regretfully have to raise cash. Pls quote in cdn dollars. Laurie
http://paulmurray.com/orderinquire/insurance-guide/ this is the link for values of all the artwork. Times may have made these drop some. Good luck, if you want any of the images digital for ebay listings I can help you. We have many clients that keep an eye out for Paul’s work on ebay. Hopefully they were kept out of the sun and framed in archival materials.

I purchased two (2) pencil art pieces back in 2010 when I worked in Gatlinburg, TN and visited his Gallery. One is titled “John Proffit” and the other one is not titled (an old lady thinking).
I would like to frame them but, would like to know if Mr. Murray can autograph them for me.
Armando, Paul is always willing to sign his art. Call us in Tenn. before Nov 1 and we will arrange this for you. KatiJane 865-436-8445
Good Afternoon. We Picked up a picture that we think is yours but we wanted to make sure before we list it. Would you be willing to take a look at it. We would be able to send you an email with the picture attached. The Title is “Watercolor Study for Lnice Dipper” -Paul Murray- the first part of the name could be way off but that is what it looks like to me.
Your Skills are amazing and very moving.
Thank you for any assistance you can offer.
Todd Morren
